StartSusa, Piedmont, Italy.

This is a long ride with no flat - you are either grinding your way uphill towards Col de l'Iseran or making the most of the descents. This ride starts in Giaglione, a small Italian town not far from Susa, takes you over into France and to skirt around the Lac du Mont Cenis. The ride then descends down into the Tarentaise Valley and climbs to Bonneval-sur-Arc. This section of the ride, although ascending was not too difficult and the valley was filled with alpine flowers. From Bonneval-sur-Arc the south ascent of the Col de l'Iseran begins, a 13.5km climb at 7.2% gradient. A series of switchbacks take you to the highest paved moutain pass in France. Ensure that you take a wind vest and/or warm clothing as it can be quite cold at the Col and on the descent.
