Start: Orgiva, Andalucia, Spain

This ride starts from the village of Orgiva at the base of the Sierra Nevada. The loop is 81km long with 1770m altitude gain and passes through the iconic spanish village of Trevelez. This town is the highest village in mainland Spain at 1476m.
From Orgiva the ride starts to ascend with a fairly easy gradient. Unfortunately, until reaching the village of Pampaneira there was a moderate amount of traffic. From Pampaneira the ride follows the contour of the mountain and the peaks of the Sierra Nevada are visible. After reaching the lower section or Barrio Bajo of Trevelez the ride continues through the village and then crosses the river Trevelez. From here the ride continues to ascend until finally reaching the Alto de Trevelez (1535m). As you continue forward, a large quarry is visible and after passing, the road descends down through farming and a couple of villages to the valley floor. Here it passes over a wide river bed. Once on the south side of the valley, the ride merges with a more major road, though despite this, we found little traffic here. The road weaves back towards Orgiva and offers a perfect viewpoint for the surrounding mountains and valley.
