Start: Ronda, Malaga, Spain

Undulating terrain sometimes takes you by surprise. Whilst this ride has no big climbs there is almost 2000m of altitude gain! The ride leaves the Puente Neuvo from the centre of Ronda and heads in a north-west direction along the A-374. Again, not a quiet road, but on our ride the drivers were extremely considerate. After 14km the road turns off and the ride heads south through forest and farming land. The road is on the outskirts of the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Grazalema and provides wonderful views over the valleys. Another great feature of this ride is that it takes captures views of many of the white villages (Pueblos Blancos) of Andalucia. In contrast to the rugged, rockiness of the landscape, the villages appear dotted across the hills. The Puerto de Encinas Borrachas (1029m) is reached before a descent down and through Juzcar - the town that was smurfed in 2011 (no really, it was!). From Juzcar there is an ascent out of town through cork tree forests and over the Alto de Benaojan (707m) before descending back into Ronda.
