Start: Banyoles, Girona , Catalonia Spain
This loop from the lakeside town of Banyoles is a fairly easy ride without too much challenging climbing. The first half of the ride ascends gently through a forested valley before descending into the village of Olot. Once you have reached Olot the ride heads back to Banyoles but follows a busier road. Initially the ride is through some industrial areas. Though, on the return to Banyoles, the town of Besalu is passed. This old stone town is most well known for its 12th-century Romanesque bridge that spans the Fluvià river. This village is worth stopping at though the cobblestones and steep streets can be a little treacherous in your cycling shoes. The ride from Besalu back to Banyoles can also have moderate traffic.
